September: Things I Bought and Loved

Plus more info regarding my fall work trip to NYC!

Hello and happy Wednesday! This week is a mini roundup of some pieces that I really love and wanted to share with you. I haven’t purchased that many things because I feel like my closet is in pretty good shape for fall, but I would say I am on the lookout for a pair of cream wool wide leg trousers, a new pair of comfortable black booties that I can walk in but that also have a bit of a heel, and a dressy black blazer for the holidays. I have my eye on this one at the moment…

Ok, let’s get into it!

What I bought: This utility chore jacket. I also bought it in cream, which feels a bit more on trend for spring but I’m happy to have it for warm weather trips as a light layer. This jacket runs on the roomier size so I tried a small and extra small to see if there was big difference and only noticed a slight narrowing in the waist and shoulders.

How I plan to style it: With a white tank, a floral skirt and slides, or over top of a cropped tee, bike shorts and sneakers.

What I bought: This sleeveless rib-knit midi dress. I found this to be quite flattering, which I was skeptical of the fit at first because I don’t typically like tight dresses. It’s very comfortable, stretchy and hits at a good length. I like the slit on the side and think it can easily be dressed up or down.

How I plan to style it: With a cropped jacket and sneakers or black booties and a leather jacket.

What I bought: These drapey, rust colored trousers. If you know me personally or have been following my Instagram for a while, then you know I LOVE anything in this color. So naturally when I saw that my favorite pair of trousers came in this new color, I had to snap them up! I still need to get them tailored because they run really long (for reference, I am 5’4) but when I do, you will be seeing lots of photos of me in them.

How I plan to style them: In my mind, because I love this color, these pants are so versatile to me so there are many ways I would wear them. But right off the top of my head, I would say either with a tan trench, a silky cream button down tucked in with a whiskey colored leather belt (brushed gold buckle) and suede stiletto ankle booties, or with a white hoodie, leather jacket and sneakers.
